good question my friend bf died like 2 years ago and his account is still active. She even has the relationship status still posted....strange

A close friend or relative can apply to have it 'memorialised' this basically 'locks' the account so that no further activity takes place on it. With the exception of the Wall, which is kept intact for friends and family to leave posts in remembrance of the deceased.
