Do you sometimes feel depressed but then? - Misunderstoodfood212 - 11-09-2012 08:28 PM

You see other people who have it worse than you, disabled, missing ligaments, mentally disabled, child support, miserable marriage, prison, felonies. And you feel relieved. Yeah life is tough but it could be tougher. Your thoughts?

At least I don't have smallpox.

Yes, sometimes the thought occurs to me. I think that's only human!

Absolutely. I have a good friend who in the last 5 years, has lost her Mom, her only sibling, her father and Father-in-law. She and her hubby are the most happiest kindest people I know, I really do not know how she has handled all of this, so when I am upset by something I think of her.
Now, that does not mean we all cannot have bad days, of course we do, we cannot deny our feelings, but you have always hold on and have hope.
Sorry, too sappy?

I've lived in a nursing home for over 2 years. I've seen it all here. The woman in the next room has Downs Syndrome and in low functioning. She is here due to an injury, but she lives in a home for those who cannot take care of themselves. She does not understand why she is here, so she screams a lot.

In my two years, 5 roommates have died. The first from cancer, but he had the opportunity to see his son, to whom he had not seen in 26 years, due to the mother running off with another man. I found the son on Facebook.

There a ones on long term ventilators. One little old lady is spry, can stand, and easily move around, but only as far as the hose attached to her throat can reach.

Over half of those in nursing homes have no close relatives, so they are completely alone. Nobody in society cares about us.

Hi there

I never feel depressed.
I am a Christian and as such I know that I have a bright future ahead of me if I remain faithful to God , and follow only what is found in the Bible.

While I am somewhat saddened by the conditions that others may have to deal with , I know that they too have the same great opportunity of eternal life on a paradise Earth than I do.

Acts 10:34-35 ''--- “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial , but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him''

Psalm 37:10-11  ''And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be.  But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.''
