How long can twitter remember your log in for? - Lilley Rose - 11-09-2012 08:31 PM

If you log into twitter and you click the remember me option, what is the longest possible time period that twitter will remember you for? I ask this because I found my boyfriends exs twitter logged onto his macbook and they split up well over a year ago. Thankyou for any techys who can give me a accurate answer Smile

as long as the original 'cookie' is present on your PC. To clear it delete all cookies. You will have to log on everything else again. Of course you could change your password.

For as long as the cookie is there.
Theoretically, this is infinite - Provided you don't clear your cookies or the cookie expires.

Sometimes, cookies will expire for security reasons, and ask a user to re-enter their password, but having been such a long time, I'd be tempted to say this would have happened by now.

The only other way the account could be logged out is if there was a security breach, and passwords are lost (unlikely) - This would mean all users have to change their passwords, so all sessions would expire.
