What? I don't see any word or symbol you could be referring too. Well, unless of course you mean the greater/minus sign. If you tried to put a letter after the greater/minus sign then Yahoo won't show it because that is how html and script is written.
If you just mean the sign itself, then all that usually represents is an arrow. Like they're pointing to something.
Otherwise, I'm losted.
