It doesn't have to be Facebook official to be official, the world does not have to know about who you are in a relationship with or when you break up unless you want them too. And yes people still do ask each other out, if you are dating someone and it's been a long time, asking he or she what you are to them.. A friend, girlfriend/boyfriend or a play mate.
