Why should the government get any Facebook Money? - Barmyarse - 11-09-2012 09:01 PM

The government well get billions due to Facebook becoming public. Do they deserve any of it? Did they invest in the company? Did they pull all nighters years on end? Did they come up with the idea?

California is counting on over two billion to help close its deficit.

You forget the Government Mantra. It is our money and we are allowing you to keep some of it for yourself.

The sad fact is that THEY REALLY BELIEVE THIS.

There is a lesson in this that Obama needs to learn about the "Buffet rule".

If you demonize the wealthy and then try to tax them to death they can just leave and take their money with them.

Now Singapore gets the jobs and the investment capital.

Elizabeth Warren rejects the concept that it is possible for Americans to become wealthy in isolation.
So does the country!

"You built a factory out there? Good for you," she says. "But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did."

She continues: "Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea? God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along."
