About Twitter hashtags and giveaways...? - Andre - 11-09-2012 09:01 PM

OK, I have a couple things I'm wondering about on Twitter. I joined mainly because there are code giveaways for video games (gold weapons for Gears of War), and it is only required to hash certain text to enter in these giveaways. Does that mean I just put # in front of something (i.e. #gearsofwar) and they automatically see it or is there something else to it? They've been doing these giveaways for a while and I've never been mentioned.

Also, I created about 20 accounts to enter each with their own e-mail addresses. By some chance, could they realize this and have discounted me? I'm curious because some people won multiple times with apparently one account and I haven't won once with 20. Am I just that unlucky or doing something wrong?
Hahaha, I just looked up Newt G. I didn't create 1.3 million accounts but I might if I have the time.

The give away is by luck and yes u have to put # and u have to do like this

#gearsofwar (write the certain text)

and they may automatically select a random person and award the prize

If you put a hashtag in front of something and your account is public anyone will be able to type what you put a hashtag onto and your tweet will eventually come up. I don't think the hashtagged thing can have numbers or symbols in it though.
