Its when you put the hash mark in front of someone's name and tag them in something. I.E. the number sign (#). So it for example be like this #JohnSmith. And the name will usually appear blue.

People who hashtag use these: # to tag things they've done, places they've gone, and items as well. They do it on Twitter, Instagram, and such to make their posts more visible and easier to find for the rest of the community.

Those things that are a # followed by words without spaces. They're predominantly used on Twitter.

When someone types #learntogoogle. That number sign and the following phrase are used to search for other posts about he same topic on twitter.
