What are those specific things that make Facebook and Tweeter more popular. I really want to know everything in greater detail.

No one under 30 years old uses linkedin. It is geared toward professional networking instead of social networking like Facebook.

Facebook:

Facebook is a social network site for connect to friends and family, using it we can share thoughts, images, etc. And Facebook providing services like chat,message etc. Apart from this Facebook allows for developers to contribute applications that interact with Facebook features.

Twitter:

Twiiter offers a social networking and micro blogging service, enabling its users to send and read other users' messages called tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the user's profile page.


LinkedIn:

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site. It is mainly used for professional networking.There is no option for chat & message.

Orkut:

Orkut is a social networking website. The service is designed to help users meet new friends and maintain existing relationships.It includes chatting, message, photo sharing etc services.
