I like how facebook has these new lists. But i dont like how you get notifications of people on your "close friends" list. So i added my close friends and a few others onto the family list, so i dont get notifications. I just want to know if they get any notification saying that i added them or not.

Yeah they do get notified.

no, who you add to your custom lists is only seen by you

Yes,and they will have to accept or deny the request of being related to you.

Hey if you added them as YOUR family they get a request to approve.
SO that they will get a notification TO ACCEPT that request. . .
OR
if you grouped your close friends to acquaintances be SURE that you have subscribed . . .
