does it come up with a message that someone tried to and failed? my friend tried logging into her boyfriend's facebook to find something out but she couldn't get the password right.

Long as the PC is fully protected then hacking is almost impossible

You just keep changing the password and make sure you don't write anything too personal on your facebook.
