I was talking to a friend and they gave me their number and asked me to text them and then I accidently closed the chat and they went offline... So how do I open up chat with an offline person so I can read what they said or view chat history on Facebook?

I've never been able to do it, sorry. I don't think you can.

just post on their wall, they will reply if they are on FB, but they wont if they don't want to talk 2 u or are off etc.

You Can't Do That. When They Go Online, Start A Chat With Them Again. Simple.

You can't. Both users have to be online at the same time in order for you to be able to chat with him. You can probably (in most circumstances) retrieve your chat history the next time he comes online.

msg them using msg function in fb or a better idea would be give a miss call in their cell or ask them to come online when you give a miss call
