Use hashtags alot. For example, if I was to tweet...
#nowplaying "Boom Boom Pow" - The Black Eyed Peas
...then you're saying your listening to that song, and everyone who searches for that hashtag #nowplaying (and it's a popular one) will be able to see your tweet. Therefore, if they like your song or whatever they might decide to follow you! Look at the trending topics on the right hand side of the page too to see what everyone is talking about right now. For example, right now in the UK "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is trending. So, then you could tweet something like...
I love The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I just love horror films in general though!
...or...
I hate The Chainsaw Massacre. How can anyone watch that kind of stuff?! It's horrible!
...and then anyone who clicks on that trending topic will be able to see your tweet! It takes a while to build up followers but tweeting about all the popular things right now will get the most attention brought to you. Of course, you could always do "Follow 4 Follow" but I don't recommend it, it's better to try and get followers who are like you and think the same as you tweet

You can use HOT, Best, top, 10, 7, 5 and other word. so people will give more attention to your tweets.
