I've just met this Slovak guy and when I added him on facebook, I noticed he had 'III' after his name. My friends are convinced he is some sort of royalty! Is it a sing of importance, or is it common for Slovak people to have roman numerals after their names?

Good lord. It just means he is the third person in his family with that name. Most likely his father and grandfather had the same name.

It means his dad and grandpa have the same name.

His probably the third in his family to be named that name. I bet it's common.

No it's a sign that his name has been passed down from his grandfather, to his father and then to him making him the third.
