If somebody left a comment on my facebook picture, will they be notified? - Foolishbath438 - 11-09-2012 10:14 PM

My mother-in-law tagged herself in one of my pictures (that she isn't even in) and my aunt left a comment about it. Then my mother-in-law replied to the comment explaining who was in the picture, Will she know if I delete her comment?
Also, to the person who suggested making photos for friends only: they are, but since she's a facebook friend, she tagged herself so her friends could see some of my pictures of my kid. I feel guilty deleting the tags...

no, unless she looks at the comment again and notices

NO she won't be notified or something, but the next time she goes on that page she'll notice that her comment is missing.

As long as no one else comments on the photo and she does not go back to the photo, she will not know that you have deleted her comment.

If someone else comments on the photo (even if you have deleted her comment), she will likely get a notification. For example:

{Name} also commented on {Name}'s photo.11:47am

...making it very likely that she will click back to the photo and see that her comment is gone.

There are other ways that you can keep your photos private, like restricting them to your friends only. I highly recommend doing so.
