Why do people need to have their voices heard? - Towelie - 11-09-2012 10:19 PM

With the blogs, this stuff, youtube,facebook,twitter....why does everyone feel the need to share everything with the world? What happened to wanting some privacy?

Lol, I have a blog too. I don't like to write about my personal life because it feels too awkward, and I like to keep my privacy. Instead I just share with people information, sites and links to do with religion, spirituality, current affairs, anything of interest to me. I like self expression, but not through facts and figures like on social networking sites where they have an "About Me" box and expect you to fill it out. I find that so difficult to do. I mean self expression through art, music and speeches.

Peace.

Well, most people DO want their privacy, but they also want to share their views with the world... views that could never be expressed publicly prior to the internet and social networking sites. It's empowering to a lot of people to be able to express themselves like that. Some people DO want their privacy and don't care about sharing their views with the world, though... and those people don't have social networking site profiles or blogs, or they keep those profiles set to private so that only their close friends can interact with them. It's human nature to want to be popular and to be heard. Humans don't like to be held down or alone and they want to be social and popular. Also take into consideration the fact that if a few people start doing something and they are "cool" other people will do the same thing and it will catch like a disease.
