At least 50 percent of my unread mail is notifications I get from Facebook. How do I get Facebook to stop sending the emails?

Go in FB settings, and change your email. Thats how I got rid of all mine!!!

If you don't want to receive emails from Facebook open any email sent to you by Facebook just scroll down to bottom of the page , you will find "unsubscribe" link on bottom of the page . Click on it and follow the instructions given by them.

Go to Account Settings>Notifications and Uncheck all the options.
