Define safe? Pretty much anything online has the potential for security issues, so plan accordingly. Just ask Congressman Wiener =).

I think these site are enough safe to used. for other reasons new emerging site are not enough user friendly and are not popular. As yahoo and Google also have their own social networking site

thesocialrequest.com is a really cool site and the privacy settings are really good
