I don't even want people to be able to see that I'm on facebook when they type in my name. I'm strictly using it for close friends and family.

Make your account private. They will only be able to see your profile picture and name.

Don't use Facebook - it is completely useless - and invasive.

1) Let them know your reasons why and they would back off.
2) You can edit on your profile on who can see your profile and who cannot.
3) Make a new one with a different name

Then delete it and use the telephone for close friends and family.

go to privacy settings and make it private or block the people
