i've seen some people put , #FF or #haters , or even #twitterpause.

On Twitter, if you put # (referred to as a hashtag) before a word in your post, it can be clicked on to see all posts using the same hashtag. It has become common to use a hashtag outside of Twitter to convey that you are categorizing what you have just said.
