What are your thoughts on accepting a former students friend request on facebook? - Katie - 11-10-2012 12:02 AM

The students are graduated and over the age of 13, legal to use facebook.

If it's me, I would. I started having facebook when I was in year 6. I always add strangers and they are kind. So, if u recieved students friend requests you should accept

I'm currently a freshman in college and have added many teachers on facebook from elementary school, junior high school, and even high school after I graduated. It's nice to keep in touch with my teachers, but just so that it doesn't feel awkward I changed my privacy settings so that they can't see everything on my page. If you feel uncomfortable with them seeing your page, you can either change your privacy settings or just message them and start a conversation without actually adding them.

True, it indeed is great to keep in touch with your former students. There is nothing wrong with it. One good thing about it is that you can be updated with their lifestyle and see how you make a good impact in becoming a good influence to them.
