These are social networking sites that you use by creating accounts on them. More specificly, Twitter is a site where you choose certain people, companies, pets and so on to follow, you then are alerted whenever one of those people posts something through their twitter(which must contain 140 characters or less). On Facebook you post pictures and comments about yourself and your activities and private life to share with everyone who's friend requests you accept, and also, if your privacy settings allow it, anyone who wants to see it. Like a potential boss who can look at your facebook and in some cases choose not to hire you for what he sees.
