How do you temporarily close your Facebook account to support a cause? - Stefan - 11-10-2012 12:32 AM

I heard there is this cause that helps people if you close your Facebook account, I want to know how I would get my image to say "Account Closed" with a red cross through it confirming it's closed for a week or so to support this cause?

Does anyone know this?

Go to Account Setting and just Deactivate Account.
It won't Delete it permanently just Deactivated until you log back in, I tried it myself and it worked

You won't get a profile with an empty box that says Account closed.

If you deactivate it, people won't be able to know that it has been deactivated, you will simply vanish from their friends-lists.

But you pictures, videos and informations will remain.

Btw it will also dis-engage your current relationship.

Go to Account Settings Hit Deactivate This Will Shut Down your Profile However its not really gone but nobody will be able to search for you or be able to find you even if they typed your url in

when you want to reactivate your account just login

Yes , Facebook has given all the users a facility to close their account temporary. But you can activate it at anytime as you might need it back and running.

Process is really easy.

Login to Facebook > Go to Accounts menu > Select Account Setting > You will now have 7 tabs there , on the settings tab which is the first tab , look down to the last option which is the deactivate account option > Tell Facebook why your leaving and fill out other settings > Finally Confirm it. Your Done

Facebook will not show a red cross after the account has been deactivated.

Hope this makes sense.
