How do you respond from a "how are you?" from a sister you haven't seen in 10 years? - Ironclad - 11-10-2012 12:39 AM

I have no conversation skills, and I miss my sister, but I haven't seen her in a long time. She found me on facebook and asked how I was. How do I respond?

I know this is a dumb question, I just have no social skills. Thanks.

Say, "Fine." and call your mom/dad or something.

Just start off telling her how your life has been over the last 10 yrs. Then ask her how has her life been.. Good luck ! You will do fine.. It will all come to you. Congrats on reconnecting!!

i think you should just start talking to her more often. if she lives close, make plans to go out for coffee or lunch or something and just get to know each other again. im pretty sure she will be happy to talk to you again Smile

Lmao. No worries the worst you could do is try to be someone else. Be yourselve by letting her know exactly what you want her to know. Only you know what you been doing over the years, what works have u held, what good deeds u done, who have u met that you think is cool, what places have u visited, what are ur goals, like that.
Trying to be someone ur not is the surest way to have people avoid you b/c that's just not you. So if you try to appear someone ur not you won't have anything to talk about because that person isnt you, get it!

Having social skills is about being honest , humble , and cheerful, the surest way to be friendly and/or social is to do what I told you.
Best of wishes.

Unless you are actually dying you say "fine". It is not really a question about your health, it is more of just a common greeting. She is not asking for a medical history.
