I signed into Facebook, for the first time, using a fake name yet nearly half the suggested friends were? - thankfulwheel385 - 11-10-2012 12:48 AM

people I work with.

I found this slightly creepy.

I put minimal information about myself on there fake name, date of birth and gender.

How on earth did it come up with half my work crew and five of my relatives as suggested friends?
None of these people were linked in anyway to my yahoo email that I used.

Your email address is linked with MSN and such, and can gather them to use for suggested friends too.

I think it was because you had to put your email address on it. Facebook can search for potential friends for you by searching through your contacts list on hotmail, gmail, etc and suggest them for you.

Hope this helps.

Hmm, that's very strange. Maybe it recognized that you were the same person somehow. Did you add any work details? Did you add yourself?
