Everyone has been posting statuses with the # symbol and then a phrase after it. I don't understand what that is supposed to mean!? For example one of my friend's recent posts:
"About to go to the Waverley Hill Haunted House! Ahh! #PreparedToBeScared"
Can someone just explain this to me so i fully understand?

Its a twitter thing! Everyone is doing it! Its like something hot on twitter. Like #Fred is hacking awesome. OR like that status you put.
It just simply means. Emphasis on that particular thing. Or that is really important!!
