how do you use it? ive got it n i get how to follow people. and where to go to write a tweet but i dont get how to do all the "@whatever" or "#something". very confused on how to use twitter properly, ill put my name up when i understand how to use twitter lol thankyou

First of all - Welcome to Twitter!
I'm gonna explain it all to you,
@something is a mention - lets you communicate with someone
#whatever is a hash tag - lets you try and trend something or people with similar interests can search for it
A DM is basically an inbox message, but you can only DM people that follow you,
I've been on twitter for a while now, and I love it
Just be honest and be yourself, that way people with the same interests and sends of humuor will find you.

The @ sign is simply used if you want to tag other tweeters in your tweet. For example, if you "mention" or put @BradPitt in a tweet, that means Brad Pitt will see* that tweet. (This is, of course, hypothetical. I'm sure Brad Pitt doesn't have a twitter.) The # sign is called a "hashtag" and if you see a word with a hashtag (such as #embarrassing) you can click on that hashtag and every single tweet with "#embarrassing" in it will show up and you can view them all. You can hashtag whatever word(s) you'd like. #itdoesntmatter
*Of course, famous people get thousands of "mentions" per day so they most likely won't see your tweet; don't get offended if you get no response.
