Our headteacher has been looking at all of our years twitters, prints out things they've been doing/saying and is punishing people for what has been said on twitter.

That's illegal and invasion of privacy. Tell a trusted adult or your parent. Or possibley the principal.
EDIT: Yeah I guess, but purposely looking through it just a way to get a students in trouble is wrong. You get what I mean? I'm confusing myself lol.

It depends on what is being said on Twitter. If it's bullying another student or something illegal, such as drug-related posts, she very well can do that. However if it's, "Today, I have a ton of homework. I hate school" kind of posts, then she shouldn't be punishing how. No matter what though, the school is allowed to, at any time, search your Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, YouTube, Tumblr, etc. if they have a reason to.
It's not an invasion of privacy. They posted it on the Internet, which means they know it's public.

This head teacher of yours needs a life. What kind of freak stalks their pupils on twitter, and prints out the things they post? I say you tell another adult about this.

If someone is doing terrible c r a p on the internet and posting bullying or illegal things they should be punished.
People have killed themselves due to the things we post on the internet. Someone needs to regulate it and punish kids that are doing the wrong thing.

Well, I'm not sure of the legalities of situations such as this, but i'd say it was *morally* wrong. Purposely searching for information about pupils when they aren't in school and punishing them for something they did that isn't related to the school isn't fair. I would feel like my privacy had been invaded if I knew a teacher was searching for my Twitter page and printing off what i've written to people to get me in trouble!
However, I guess you have to be really careful with the internet because the things you write can be seen by practically anyone. No, I don't think the headteacher should be doing it, but there's nothing to stop them. If you put it on Twitter, then they can print it off. Just regulate what you do on Twitter and there shouldn't be a problem. I do understand where you're coming from though!
