I have decided to close my facebook account but would like to post a quote first. I am so fed up with the backbiting, nosy, hurtful, blah blah blah on there. It consumes my thoughts of wandering just what was meant by such and such. Any ideas?

You'd probably make more of a statement by not saying anything and then just deleting you account. If you still want to be in contact with your friends on there, you might put something like "I've decided to close my account. You can still reach me at myemailaddress@whateveremail.com."
If you say anything, you'll just be adding to the drama.
