That's called a hash, and any word with that directly in front of it is called a "hashtag." For example, #hashtagexample would be a hashtag. So far as I know, they're only used on Twitter, to link directly to another page.

Its a popular thing ppl do on twitter. So ppl from twitter are taking it to facebook.

Usually people do that on twitter. called hashtag so people can click on it.
In this case it refers to an action the user is doing. Listening to music while bobbing his/her head.
