If I leave a comment on a friend's wall, I will get email notifications about other people that I don't even know that commented after me on my friend's post. how do I get rid of this? I tried going into Settings-applications but it doesn't fix the problem. Also, if someone comments on one of my friend's posts, I receive a notification of someone I don't even know who has replied to an email of someone else.

everyone gets that just delete the messages and ignore them.
