when you or someone uses the "#" symbol, its a hastag,that means someone starts a topic and other people follow along with making a joke or remark about this hastag. like if i start a hastag like this #justinbiebersbirthday you can tweet: #justinbiebersbirthday happy birthday justin! or something like that.
