apparently ( think I spelled that wrong but who cares) you have never been in the U.S. Military. I was in the Army for ten years near about and I have to say this question you ask is farther from the truth I have never in my life seen more unique individuals. Its a culture shock, im from NC stay here for a while then go to Cali and you will think they are all unique,LOL!

Status quo bias and bandwagon bias, the former is subconsciously suiting your lifestyle to mirror the majority, the latter is being consciously more attracted to an idea that the majority has. They're similar, but slightly different, and that is why social media is so prevalent, because people want to see what's 'trending' so they know what they should do to fit the norm.
