Why has Facebook become more popular than Myspace.? - Brandon Thomas - 11-15-2012 08:47 AM

Hey guys, I'm doing a research paper in MLA format on the reasons to why Facebook now has more users than Myspace.

For the same reason Twitter is catching up to Facebook, and will soon become more popular. It's New, and people like to be in the latest trend.

I'd say Facebook is more general than MySpace. MySpace started as a music sharing site for bands not as a site for any type of human interaction - which is what Facebook is. Although of course MySpace has added features to clone Facebook. Facebook though has reached that tipping point where it becomes dominant. This effect is well documented by people like Malcolm Gladwell (Tipping Point) and Geoof Moore (Crossing the chasm).
