Recently I opened an account at twitter but I don´t know how to used it and what exactly it is, I got very confused.

Twitter is a little like a Facebook with only status updates, if that helps. You pretty much have little box to update and tell everyone what's going on. You can also follow people and and it shows up on your homepage. There are lots of famouse people you can follow, i think thats what most people use it for.

Twitter is just to update what you're doing and also to see what your friends are doing/ enjoy/ think about stuff/ ect.

Hi,
Actually Twitter pretty cool. It does get some getting use to, but once you figure out the basics, I think you will quickly like it.
Basically you follow your friends or who ever you want to. They can follow you back if they choose.
I would recommend following @TweetSmarter http://twitter.com/TweetSmarter They give really helpful advice and tips.
Also, here is a link to a guide to Twitter. It explains pretty much everything you need to know, like tweeting, including pictures, video, etc.

@Alyssa_Milano http://twitter.com/Alyssa_Milano Is also a great one to follow. She is a celebrity, but she tweets helpful advice to new users on Twitter.
Just be patient, it might take time before you get followers. Using the Twitter "Find People" option, I would suggest looking for friends that you already know.
Also if you read the trending topics, you might find people that you find interesting and would want to follow.
I think once you spend some time on it, you will like it. It is very addicting.

Like the others have said, it is a social networking site, somewhat like facebook. In place of status updates, you instead have "tweets" these can be anywhere from 1-140 characters long and go out to every one who is "following" you. This means that they went to your page and hit "the follow" button and will see your tweets on their page. If you follow someone, you will see their tweets o. Your page. Hope this helps, twitter is ok, but facebook is better.
