Why do so many people say "I'm so socially awkward" when they're not? - Ariana - 11-15-2012 01:37 PM

It really irritates me. My friends have twitter and so many of them put "Socially awkward" in their description and they're not even socially awkward! They don't know what it's like to really be awkward! is this some kind of new trend that I don't get? I told one of these people that they're not socially awkward and she was like "Yes, I am!" when she's at ease in conversations and has many friends! I'd do anything to not be socially awkward but no people think it's cool to label themself something they're actually not to seem 'cool' or 'interesting'. NOOOOOO

Internet and real life are 2 different worlds.

I agree, it appears as though everyone thinks that they're "socially awkward".
I admit, I say it, but that's because I really am.
But yes, I know people who aren't and say that they are and it's like wtf.

The same reason why sluts claim they're nerds when they're not.

Because apparently being retarded and awkward is what's cool at the moment. They all think it makes them "unique" and sh*t.

I find it really annoying.

It really does annoy me as do hypocrites in general. I agree that a lot of people seem to do it to seem "cool" and "different" but it just makes them look really sad and desperate to deliberately fit out. I would like to know what their definition of "socially awkward" is, because it certainly isn't the same as mine.
