How much would you be willing to pay per hour for a face painter for your kids party? - Sara L - 11-18-2012 12:59 PM

I'm starting up a business and would like to have rates that are affordable. Thanks Smile

I would suggest about $20ph. If you try that and feel that you could get more you could keep the hourly rate the same and say, "plus $5 for paints."

Ring around and see what others are charging.

Here is a range of prices being discussed http://www.clown-forum.com/face-painting/1038-what-do-you-charge-face-painting.html

You are starting your business, so your rates could reflect the fact that your service is new. You could also use a lower price point as a way to break into the market and build your business. So you can probably charge a little less to start with. However, make sure you have the permission to take pictures of your work and use them to advertise. Put this pics up on facebook, your website and twitter etc. Let your friends and family see the awesome work you do. This will help them refer more work to you, 'like' your work on FB and help get the word around. This will help you scale the business.

all the best!
