What's the difference between a Conservative and Libertarian? - Phil - 11-18-2012 01:01 PM

Please no political hate, debate, etc.

Just want to know how different/similar they are.

Libertarians are what conservatives used to be. Today conservatism is more closely associated with neo-cons like Bush and McCain. The neo-cons say they believe in small government, fiscal restraint, and individual liberty, but they never uphold these principles.

Libertarians, so far, are upholding these conservative values plus they believe in strict adherence to the Constitution.

Conservatives endorse Big Government to impose their fascist agenda.

Usually...social issues.

Real Conservatives and Libertarians are usually on the same page economically.

A libertarian is a person part of a political party that is interested in minimizing government to be as small and powerless as possible.

A conservative is an individual who follows conservatism (the American version of the term) is a social ideology, (certain stances on social issues).

Basically Libertarians agree with Republicans (in theory) on economics, although the big spending administrations in recent history show that only group actually walks the walk. They disagree on social policy and many aspects of foreign policy.

A libertarian is an isolationist Republican who sees no harm in smoking a joint.

Libertarians are more educated and less practical
Conservatives have zero education and brains, but higher animal instincts...LOL
They are very disciplined and always "bend over and grab their ankles" when commanded to do so...LOL

Not much, Libertarians took the place of the nonexistent democrats.

- BOBO - 11-18-2012 01:09 PM

They are similar. Libertarians are basically the idealists of conservatives. Republicans are what endless years of politics has done to conservatives.

I'm a Libertarian.

I'm fiscally conservative who thinks that what you do with your private life is your own business, not mine. Smile
