this is annoying me A LOT. I only have ten followers (shut up) and I have no idea how to get more followers.
what are some of the tricks of the trade to gain more? I have an interesting topic, but it's almost impossible for people to stumble upon it. I don't want to register my blog onto other sites, btw.

2 simple things
1) create interesting content
2) tell all your friends, and tell your friends to tell their friends. It will eventually grow. The better your content, the faster your growth.
If you have no idea what to do for content, just have a give-a-way. Get a laptop or something and say that a random winner will be chosen. The way to get their name on a list is that they have to link your blog on facebook or something.
But remember, no interesting content = no followers.

Lot's of free ways you can gain new readers/followers.
1. Leave great comments on other blogs in your niche.
2. Be social and join social networks and link up with other bloggers.
3. Guest blog. Ask another blogger if they will post your article.
4. Create funny, unique, and interesting posts/articles on your blog.
