How delusional do you have to be to be $13 trillion in debt and support more spending on government? - Classical Liberal (libertarian) - 11-18-2012 01:04 PM

Sheer delusion
Libertarians have been telling you all along. Cut overseas spending and ween off of the welfare state with that money instead of endlessly printing it. It's just that you clowns want socialism so you won't listen.

How delusional do you have to be to not realize that since the US gained independence in 1776 it has ALWAYS been in debt and it has ALWAYS been growing?

- Jon J - 11-18-2012 01:12 PM

I don't support more debt, but really Bush left us between a rock and a hard place.

There are no good solutions, only solutions that are less bad and keep the most Americans employed through not letting the economy fall through the crevices it's clinging onto.

the American people demand we keep employment as high as possible wiht lots of government services, even if we run a debt. Sounds like your angry at Democracy as a system, instead of politicians just doing what they're told.

When you are using dope all your life, you have no brain cells left to think!

- Shovel Ready - 11-18-2012 01:12 PM

Delusional would do it, but so would an anti-American attitude.

- wdx2bb - 11-18-2012 01:12 PM

That's fine, but what would you like to do about it? More than 80 percent of the budget goes to social security, Medicare, interest on the national debt and defense.

Pretty delusional, but some people on both sides of the aisle will refuse to cut the bacon that promotes the party platform.

The debt will continue because Americans will continue to vote in the same old bureaucrat. The debt will continue to rise because Americans want a big ass government, on both sides of the aisle. Whether it is policing the world, regulating the economy, regulating society, or imposing unjust taxes.

The problem is with the current establishments on both parties, yet the typical partisan voter refuses to accept that. That's why you have die hard Obamanacs and Palinacs.

How delusional do you have to be to believe that, in absence of a federal government to regulate to the contrary, human beings will do anything but resort to Lord of the Flies barbarism? (it only takes one Bernie Madoff to affect five million people, it doesn't matter if you and your family are all nice people)

How delusional do you have to be to believe that poor people are poor simply because they're lazy, and should be subject to the whim of the free market when it comes to paying for food, shelter, and clothing?

How delusional do you have to be to believe that the free market, absent federal oversight, rewards anything but completely amoral profit-driven Wall-Street style obsession?

How delusional do you have to be to believe that isolationalism is in any way a sound diplomatic or economic policy, especially in the 21st Century? Working out real well there in North Korea, in'nit?

How delusional do you have to be to believe that letting the free market dictate who lives or who dies is any better than, or even as good as, letting Sarah Palin's fictitious Gubbmint Death Squads do the same?

How delusional do you have to be to believe that sitting around and doing nothing during a serious recession is a reasonable decision, especially considering how Herbert Hoover tried just that, and as a result, the free market "corrected" itself by plunging us into the Great Depression, causing the economic, social, and emotional ruin of hundreds of thousands of actual people?

How delusional do you have to be to blame the Wall Street meltdown on government interference?

How delusional do you have to be to believe that a small government will somehow improve the quality of life for the people under its rule (and, for bonus points, instead of down-voting this comment in a simpering rage, cite five small governments that have actually done so - or, in fact, even one)?

How delusional do you have to be to believe in States' Rights ("separate but equal" for the 21st century)?

In short, my good man and/or woman, how delusional do you have to be to vote Libertarian?
