There's this girl who goes to my college that follows me on Twitter who I've never talked to before. We have loads in common and she seems really nice. Should I DirectMessage her or wait until September?

DirectMessage her and see what happens. You two could try to hang out with each other. It can be a lot more fun than just communicating over the Internet.
