If you want people to notice you, stop using Twitter, maybe? XD You can make lots of good friends and speak to them without using a keyboard!

You can also use different softwares that add people. The best thing to do is follow people who have an interest in whatever you like to tweet about.
I found a blog that talked about how to get more followers and how to make money with twitter.
