You need to have a solid ecommerce step in place to get people to pull out their credit card. You also need heavy branding so it takes time.

you can just outsource your website project. easiest way to do it would be to go to Get A Free Lancer site (just google) and post a job (they call it project). you just post your project details and lot of developers will bid on your project. you can even set a budget range so most people will bid within your budget. one advice, communicate via PM with the bidders to make sure you understand each other.

you have a do a lot of promotion to push that kind of paid sites. social media marketing (myspace, facebook) youtube video marketing, and most importantly SEO would be some methods to consider
