my friend just hacked my yahoo email and thankfully i got it back. is there any legal charges he could face? what ways can u hack into an email? he was ableto get to all my other social networks. my password was hard to figure out so it must have been another way. i need to make sure this never happens again. Any answers are greatly appreciated

well the thing about hacking yahoo is its pretty hard and is made sure by Expert white hat hackers (Security experts) that it is impossible. theres only two real ways to hack into a yahoo account.
1. a phished website. this is where a website is built and made to look just like the website you think your visiting when really your not and record the information you enter..
2. your infected with a keylogger or some kind of trojan sending them your cookies or typed information.
other than that the only way is that someone just guessed your password. and really that is technically hacking, but most dont consider it because its level of knowlegse.. which is pretty much knowing how to type and thats all. to avoid this in the furture always make sure your visiting the real website. such as "www.yahoo.com" and not "www.Fyahoo.com" and make sure your computer is clean. do a scan with your anti-virus and make sure.

hacking is considered to be illegal. there are various ways to hack into someones email like key logger, phishing attacks, brute forcing an id and many more, but common ones are already mentioned above..
some tips to avoid such things:
1. keep on changing your passwords on a regylar interval.
2. don't use a common password for all of your accounts (like yahoo, facebook, twitter etc.), as getting one password of any of the accounts can lead to the hack of rest ones.
3. try to use password which is quite difficult to guess like, password: ILtmsW&wio2, this one is made from taking the first letters of the following line: I Like the movie star Wars & watched it on 2009. this passwords are very tough to guess and brute force. your line could be more long and can contain more complex words or special symbols (liek @#$%).
