Is HostGator and Wordpress generally secure? - Jesse H - 11-19-2012 02:11 AM

I am putting a website up for my cousin, who is an actor with a large twitter following. His email and stuff is always getting hacked so I want to see how secure HostGator and Wordpress is and if there is anything else I should do to tighten it up?? Also have contact form 7!!

I think that wordpress is relatively secure, but it is so popular that people find exploits for it all the time. If you check out the link below you will see that there are 18 pages listing wordpress exploits, but then again nothing is completely secure. If you are raelly worried about it i would look into getting some professional cyber-security help.

Its not about the hosting in most cases, there are lots of exploits that can be used to hack Wordpress so you have to make it hack-proof by customizing it.
