Why do I get messages on my YIM that sayS I was logged out because i logged in on a different computer? - Sugarpoo - 11-19-2012 02:16 AM

It happens when I haven't logged out OR logged in on another computer. Is my machine being hacked?

No. Either someone has the same login name as you or you left your login running on someone else's computer and they either don't notice it or they are using it. It could be a school computer if you are that age. Did you sell or trade in a computer lately without erasing the hard drive?

Your machine probably isn't currently being hacked (though it may be a frequent place for the hacker who found you), but someone else may have your passwords. You should change all of your passwords - all of them, including the ones for your bank accounts and facebook/myspace/twitter/blogger/etc.

Messengers and other internet things that "know who you are" track you using things called cookies, which are just little text files in your computer's memory. They are designed so that they go away after a certain amount of time, but it's possible that 1) you have a cache manager problem, or 2) you have an interesting problem that has to do with having a dynamic IP address (normally it wouldn't do that, though).
