I think that e-commerce is a marketing opportutiny offered by the internet (because it cuts the costs of the delivery and so the prices are lower). Is it true?

Usually, although there are free opportunities in other media which should not be ignored.

The internet has the following key activities dominating today - searching (google, bing, etc.), socializing (facebook, twitter, linkedin) and general communication (email, chatting). So there are marketing activitie using these channels and all businesses have an opportunity to market themselves through these. Some well known examples are search marketing (SEO, PPC), social media marketing and email marketing.
