it depends on what you are looking fort honestly, if you want games then i would suggest angry birds or some sort of racing game, if you are looking for apps to help you out with certain things then i would suggest shazam advanced task killer and much more they are all just too good to not just get one...

No way to know what you're interested in. My favorite free apps are Netflix, Pandora and FM radio, but I don't know if those are available in Great Britain.

There aren't many. (That is why I want to switch from my HTC Thunderbolt to the new iPhone 4S)

Best for what? Let's say there are apps that are must have, like Facebook's (if you use it ), Twitter, Weather app (weather channel, or if you have HTC then default app can be good), Astro file manager, if you like sports then ESPN app, for movies IMDB, for file managers Astro, for managing applications Advances task killer.. and so on.. let's say - Search! and you'll find many.
