What is the point of Twitter if you aren't famous? - Jarrett h - 11-19-2012 02:55 AM

OK I just made a Twitter account, but I don't see the point of it since I'm not famous (Yet). What is the point in using it other than to stalk celebrities.

Your friends should be who you stalk on there. Get with it bro.

You can follow friends, family members, businesses you like. Friends might tweet their latest news, like "I got the job!" or how the concert was or some deep thought or some news they just heard. A business might tweet a sale for that day or a happy hour special.

You can also follow complete strangers based on common interests. Say you're into steampunk and you'd like to read what others have to tweet about it. You can search on "steampunk" and find people who tweet about it and follow them.

Or say you work in a certain field, others may tweet links related to that topic that make it easy to keep up with developments in your career field.

If you tweet regularly and well, others will begin to follow you.
