Can police find out who is behind a Twitter account? - tdiarocks123 - 11-19-2012 03:05 AM Ok so there's this Twitter account called and it's tweeting out all this stuff about people at my school and they're beginning to get a bad rep. They shut down the account but their last tweet was "More after homecoming...". I was wondering if police could find out who it is if someone happens to call them. - fangtaiyang - 11-19-2012 03:13 AM Yes, they can. - clark k - 11-19-2012 03:13 AM If something on Twitter is criminal, and they have cause to determine who owns they account, of course they can. - Huh? - 11-19-2012 03:13 AM The police could find out if it was part of a criminal investigation...if you are only curious then no they won't find out for you. - papeche - 11-19-2012 03:13 AM yes. any computer would send its ip address to twitter to send and receive messages. it can be traced to a specific computer. - Oscar - 11-19-2012 03:13 AM Yes it is called a warrant. |
